Every time Emily, Kelly, and I get together, we can’t help but reminisce about our amazing stay with Collins Vacation Rentals. Sheila, our main point of contact, had been trying to get us to come to St. George Island for quite a while, but the timing was never right. Finally, we got the chance to make the 8-hour drive to the Gulf Coast. Now, we can’t wait to go back!

One of the perks of working at Q4Launch is our client visits. If you are like us and love to travel, you take every chance you get to meet your clients face-to-face and learn more about the area. From time to time, we are lucky enough to get this opportunity!

The story of Collins Vacation Rentals is a story of success. After officially moving to St. George Island and becoming one of its first official, full-time residents, Miss Alice Collins opened Collins Vacation Rentals on July 1, 1973. During her first year of business, she managed just five properties. Now, the company manages more than 200!

During our visit to the island, Emily, Kelly, and I got to meet many of the team members that make Collins Vacation Rentals so successful. From the amazing, knowledgeable ladies in the call center to the charming Miss Alice, it’s clear that this vacation rental company’s success stems from their staff.

Collins Vacation Rentals pulled out all the stops for our visit! We got to stay in an incredible beachfront home, Legasea. As soon as we pulled up to the property, it was as if we were in a dream. Sheila was waiting there to welcome us, and we spent some of our first moments on the island taking in the amazing views of the ocean on our porch. Each day of our stay, we found ourselves waking up earlier than necessary to enjoy an hour of peace and quiet as we sipped our morning coffee on the Adirondack chairs facing the ocean.

The house itself was stunning. With five bedrooms, we had more than enough room to spread out, and it was mesmerizing to fall asleep each night to the sound of waves crashing on the shore. The kitchen was equipped with everything a master chef could ever dream of, and if we had more time there, we would have headed to the grocery store and cooked a few meals!

During our visit, Sheila made sure we could enjoy the beautiful home to the fullest. We had a few hours to ourselves on the first full day to get our work done and utilize its amazing location. We were able to take the beach chairs Sheila had rented for us and soak up some sun while we watched dolphins play in the water! All in all, it was a magical experience.

As a marketing company, it’s important for us to get to know the area we are marketing for. Visiting is the best way to do it! As a writer for the Collins Vacation Rentals blog, I got to see the island from the perspective of a visitor and experience its beauty and hospitality for myself. Sheila brought us to all the hot spots on the island, and we got to meet countless shop and restaurant owners. From playing trivia with the owners of Doc Myers’ Island Pub and Sports Bar to browsing the many shops, we were more than welcomed on the island.
