The past couple of weeks have brought with them more changes to Facebook then you know what to do with. You have probably been bombarded with new concepts such as “News Ticker” and “Timeline.” However, what do these really mean? You might be saying I hate these changes, and will I still be able to still play Farmville? Regardless of your opinion, these changes are occurring, and you should understand how they will impact your Facebook experience.
We here at Q4 Launch want to walk you through these changes so you don’t have to worry about anything, especially when Timeline rolls out on October 4th. Here is how your new profile will appear, and how you can navigate through it like a pro!
Your Profile will be different!

As you can see, these changes are a drastic move away from the style displayed in the original versions. Not only that, Timeline displays a new way for you and others to view an individual both presently as well as historically. It changes the dynamic of our online social experience. Also, we now have a bigger cover picture that you will be able to choose, a timeline going all the way back to when you were born, some pictures of your friends, a map, and the pages that you like.
This may seem like a lot out of the gate but after a few days with the new profile layout you will be impressed by Facebook in more ways than one! Give it time.
A map of where you have been!

Using Facebook places you will have a track record for where you have been. This is a great way to relive some of those great family vacations, or the college trips to New Orleans that you may have since forgotten. This will all be integrated into your new timeline.
Spotfiy Integration!

One of the cooler Apps that you can integrate into your profile is the Spotify Application. This demonstrates a continuation of Facebook’s move into other forms of media. With this feature, your friends will have the ability to see what you are listening to in real time. This changes the way we share music.
The Social Reader!

With this new app you will be able to see the stories your friends are reading through the app and pull them up on your screen. Once again, another measure for enabling you to share media with friends. This will be a great way to discover new content.
The Social Ticker!

We know all of you have seen the Social Ticker. We have seen on our very own Social Ticker that you hate the Social Ticker, but we think it is amazing. It is a great way to see your friends latest status update and write on it, see the new pictures your friends are posting from their trip to Europe and comment on them, and see the TV show your neighbors are watching on Netflix and follow them. You will also be able to see what people are listening to and have a the ability to click on it and comment, watch, or listen. The new content you will get is amazing. We believe these new applications add value to your Facebook experience.
Those are some of the big things that are coming to Facebook, or that have already arrived for you. In the coming weeks you will get a chance to play with them and get used to new ways to interact with your friends. You will have the ability to tell your entire life story on a single page or keep it as surface level as you want. Whatever you do, we are looking forward to discovering new content from our friends, and looking forward to connecting with you.
